Someone didn't check with a native speaker...

The "LUMINE" chain of shopping complexes are adding new stores to several Tokyo area locations.

Take a look at these additions to the "LUMINE-ESUTO" shopping mall in Shinjuku (one of the special wards that make up the core of Tokyo).

Oops.

That's sweet. Do they sell bacon too? Because if they did, why would you ever need to shop anywhere else? Take that Wal-Mart!

It's hard to read, but the full name is actually "Titty & Co". The katakana describes it as a "ladies fashion" store.

Sadly, I don't think they sell bacon. In fact, since the Japanese don't smoke their bacon (making it just plain slices of fatty belly meat), hardly any store sells what we consider bacon. Aside from a few upscale department stores in Tokyo, the only place we've found is Costco. And they're selling a 12oz package of Farmer John's for 800 yen.

I'm so going to a supermarket deli counter when I get home.

Welcome to Costco. I love you.
