From MSNBC.
Israeli Defense Minister Amir Peretz, right, gazes at a military drill through binoculars Wednesday, apparently without realizing the lens caps were left on. The army's chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi is at left.

The photographer said Peretz gazed through the capped binoculars three times, nodding as Ashkenazi explained what he was looking at, the British Broadcasting Corp. said

My science blog

I have created a blog for my freshman Inquiry Seminar, "Chemistry and the Atmosphere". I don't want to cross post, but here are a couple of good stories.
  1. Silly Science Dana Rohrabacher says dinosaur farts caused global warming.
  2. Wyden pushes EPA to elminate benzene. Portland has huge amounts of benzene in the air, perversely because our air is relatively clean, so the EPA argues that it didn't have to regulate benzene emissions as tightly as it does on the East Coast.

Backstage at Norma

I've been busy. This was the first week of the semester, and final rehearsals for "Norma", which opens tonight. I'm a Druid priest in the chorus. Lovely music.
